U.S Consumers' Loss is More than 7 billion dollars due to the dangers of the Internet

According to the '2007 Consumer Report' by Consumers Union, it turns out that in these recent 2 years, American consumers lost more than 7 billions of dollars because of the dangers of the Internet.
*U.S.A Consumers Union is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1936. It tells informations about the products to consumers to protect them.



`According to the 'State of the Net Survey', by 2007 Consumer Report, it is said that one American consumer out of four is still in danger of the Internet risks.

*State of the Net Survey is the survey that Consumer Report National Research Center did to investigate the dangers of the Internet every year with 2000 consumers. They did it for the fourth time in the spring of 2007.

`In this investigation, it divided the dangers that the consumers might face in to 4 parts - spam, viruses, spyware and phishing. They calculated the loss of money because of these including the costs of fixing or buying computers caused by these.
-In the case of spam, it couldn't be calculated but it turned out that one out of two experienced the dangerous spam.
- Viruses take the second place of spam. It made money problems to one out ot five. Its' average damages are about 100 dollars and its total amount is 3.3 billion dollars.
- Spyware caused money problems for one out of eleven. Its' average damages are 100 dollars and the total amount is 17 hundered million.

`In the past 6 months before the investigation, it is conjectured that about 8.5 million people changed their computers because of the spyware. For the phishing, one out of 81 experienced money deodorization from their account. It's average demages are 200 dollars and the total amoun is 21 hundered million.

`In America, there were about 23thousand phishing attack. It turned out that phishing victims are over 10 millions in the recent 2 years.




`This paper shows that even though the educations and social cognition about the internet dangers has been improved in the recent few years, the amount of damages hasn't been reduced easily.

`This states that many average consumers can't act against the dangers of Internet yeat.

`Therefore the corporations which offers the Internet service has to establish the improved counterplans for the dangers. Also, consumers will have to put effort, like updating the vacine programs regularly.

Internal field is limited... Conquer the stage of the global IT

Internal IT Service Company's history, which started from unification of the corporation's computation office, has been more than 20 years. Also, it's been 10 years since the Ministry of Information and Communication, which is IT competent authorities, appeared. During that time, Korean IT Service Companies like Samsung SDS, LG CNS, SK C&C always contributed to the growth of the market.
Last year, these 3 companies' total amount of the sales were over 5 trillions of won. This is about 60 % of all IT Service Companies' income. Thios shows these Big 4 IT Service Companies location of Korean IT industry.
The IT Service Companies' location of industry is mighty when it coems to the scale and influencing power over the IT markets. However, there are many criticism about their competitive power. These are not the prestigious corporation in the global market yet. Even these companies' location of global IT market is weak. We can easily guess the recognition of mainstay IT Service Companies or the companies even smaller than that.

According to the Gartner Group, Samsung SDS took the first place in the 'Proffesional Service' area among the Asia Pacific Ocean's IT service. This is something we can be proud of. However, the reason why Korean IT service enterprise came up in the APAC market isn't because we built up the global reference persitantly, but favorable indications played their parts. We feel something lacking because we c an't find the main Korean IT Service enterprises' name in the foreign contires' top 10 of the Proffecional Service.

To be born again into true IT Service Company, we have to be the company renowned in bigger makret rather than be the top 3 in national market. It means that we have to be at least top 10 in the world's IT service market, which grows over 6% in a year. Additionally, the internal IT service companies' ranking can be almost proportioned to the corporation which it belong to.

We don't have the IT compnay which many foreign corporation wants to do their work, do we? It's time when the renowned IT service companies and man power consider to be reborn as a strong country. We still have a lot to go to make Korea settle as a strong IT service country.

Korean IT service companies has to challenge to the foreign market actively. We will have many chances in foreign countries if we try.
